Refund policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. Due to the perishable nature of the majority of our candies, confections, chocolates, and fudges, we are unable to accept returns on these products at this time. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at sales@schmidtsfudgehaus.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 220 E Kossuth St, Columbus, OH 43206

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Our Fudge Haus uses chocolate with no wax additives to provide you with the richest flavor but this does make the chocolate sensitive to higher temperatures. Our boxes are not temperature controlled but ice packs are available as add-ons on the checkout page and recommended. In order to provide you with the best quality product, orders may be delayed during heat waves. While every effort is made to keep our products at a suitable temperature, we are unable to control how our delivery providers handle each order and are not responsible for any chocolates that may arrive melted. 

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.  Do not discard damaged packaging, and be sure to take pictures so we may submit a claim with the carrier. 

We may offer reshipments, replacements, or exchanges at our discretion and we reserve the right to limit those replacements if necessary.

We are not responsible for failed deliveries when: 

  • You provide an incorrect or outdated address
  • Your recipient is out of town or not available

Shipments that are returned or require rerouting due to incorrect addresses will be subject to additional charges for reshipment.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received your return/refund request, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
